          Agarwood is one of the rarest and most expensive essential oils. In its normal state, the resin is thin and near odorless but when infected with a mold, over time it produces a more fragrant resin. This resin is then collected and distilled to produce Agarwood essential oil. The process normally takes years and takes 20 kg of infected wood just to produce 1 “Tor” (about 12.5 ml) of Agarwood essential oil.

          Agarwood has therapeutic benefits in aroma therapy however, the essential oil is mainly valued for it its fragrance. Agarwood is used in perfumery, rare incense, religious ceremonies aroma warmers & exotic massage oils. It has a deep long lasting fixative property in perfumery which holds its scent until released when warmed by the body or other methods.

          Agarwood, Aquilaria crassna has a medium thickness and Deep Brown color. The aroma is a pleasant, slightly fruity/balsamic, woody, slightly musky, rich and long lasting. It is a little sweeter than some Agarwood oils. You can detect the woody aroma but it is not similar to other wood oils.

          Agarwood instills a sense of peace and calm useful for focus & meditation and to ease anxiety.

          Shelf Life: Very Long and the aroma is expected to improve with several years of aging.
