Bulgaria is now the world’s leading producer of Lavender. It's no secret we are big fans of Bulgarian essential oils and we were excited to find this High Altitude Lavender oil produced in Bulgaria. It has a very rich, floral, sweet and lovely aroma.
High Altitude Lavenders are the most therapeutic form of Lavender. It is true Lavender, but when grown in this environment it produces a quality of oil that is difficult to match. It is suspected that growing at high altitude exposes the plant to more UV light and increases the linalool content. Other aspects of the environment in Bulgaria team together to produce more of trace ingredients & a fuller Aroma.

Lavender essential oils are perhaps the most popular oil used in aromatherapy. It works well with most essential oils and is one of the easiest to blend. Often we use it in blends where it is not needed for its therapeutic value or aroma just to stabilize another blend. It has a mild nature that makes it one of the few essential oils that can be applied to the skin "neat" (at 100% strength) on a small area of the body.
Therapeutically, Lavender essential oil has a wide range of benefits. In almost any aromatherapy book you will read, Lavender will have the longest list of benefits. It's very commonly used in Spa's for its floral scent and relaxing qualities and a top quality high altitude Lavender is one of the most used essential oils for a good night's sleep.
Lavender is reputed to be beneficial for treating minor injuries. It can be placed directly on a minor cut or burn at 100% strength. It is an antiseptic, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal anti-inflammatory oil and an aid to fast healing with mild pain relieving ability. It stimulates production of white blood cells that fight infection. Lavender can be mixed with jojoba to make a wonderful acne treatment. The jojoba oil dissolves the blockage while Lavender fights the bacteria. High Altitude Lavender is one of the best essential oils to keep in the medicine cabinet.
As well as healing, a good quality Lavender also has a rejuvenating effect on mature skin for a more youthful appearance. It is used to treat scars and stretch marks and some people claim regular use of Lavender slows the aging process.
As an insect repellent, Lavender can be vaporized into the air or used in an aroma warmer to repel moths, lice and fleas from the home.

Technical: Test results show this is a very complex Lavender oil with good Linalyl acetate & Linalool and very very low camphor/camphene & cineole. No signs of synthetic chemicals or Lavandin added. High camphor, camphene and cineole indicate a mix with low quality Lavandin which has low value for skin conditioning and relaxation. Trace markers are sign of synthetic chemical added and are not present.  The combination of camphor/camphene & 1,8 cineole is one of the lowest we’ve ever seen (about 1.1% total) making it the choice for some of our high end relaxation or skin conditioning blends.

Note: Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.

Caution: Lavender is one of the mildest essential oils. However, Essential oils can be harmful if used improperly. Information is provided for educational purposes only. It is up to the customer to determine if the product is right for their intended purpose. Special consideration should be made before applying essential oils to pregnant women, children or the elderly. If under a doctor's care, please consult the physician before using essential oils. If applying to skin essential oils must be diluted correctly and Aroma & More recommends testing on a small area of skin to check for reaction before attempting a full body massage.
