Clary Sage Essential Oil has a distinctive herbaceous, earthy, slightly floral scent. It is one of the most relaxing, soothing, balancing and supporting.
A higher concentration of flowering tops in the distillation process produces a more floral scent and a much higher sclareol content than average quality Clary Sage. It is a staff favorite and a common ingredient in several of Aroma & More’s blends.
One of the exciting things about modern aromatherapy is watching as new discoveries are made. It was once thought that the sclareol content of the oil mimicked estrogen in the body. We now know that this is impossible. The chemical structure of sclareol is not similar to the chemical structure of hormones. Nevertheless, sclareol is still an indicator of a good quality clary sage essential oil as long as it has not been added synthetically. This clary sage blends well with many essential oils and should be diluted well so a little goes a long way.
The reputed benefits come from aroma therapists experience and has not changed. It is still being recommended for female disorders, depression, anxiety, insomnia and is considered a top level mood enhancer.

Note: Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.
Caution: Seek medical advice before using while pregnant. May cause drowsiness. May cause skin sensitization if not diluted well. Not recommended for young children. Essential oils can be harmful if used improperly. Information is provided for educational purposes only. It is up to the customer to determine if the product is right for their intended purpose. Special consideration should be made before applying essential oils to pregnant women, children or the elderly. If under a doctor's care, please consult the physician before using essential oils. If applying to skin essential oils must be diluted correctly and Aroma & More recommends testing on a small area of skin to check for reaction before attempting a full body massage. Information is based on traditional use and has not been evaluated by the FDA.
