           Hyssop essential oil has a camphorus top note with a herbaceous, sweet, warm, spicy undertone. The herb has been traditionally used for more than a thousand years for its antiseptic, disinfecting, and anti-infectious properties. Hyssop is considered one of the strongest anti-viral essential oils.
          Hyssop contains natural molecules from nearly every class of compounds found in therapeutic essential oils, yet when diluted in small amounts it is still relatively gentle. It is one of the oils suggested for herpes simplex and many other viral infections.

          Traditional Uses: Hyssop Essential Oil is thought to ease sore throats caused by allergic or sinus issues. It is reputed to relieve bronchial spasms and thus might be helpful for asthma attacks. The therapeutic properties of Hyssop Essential Oil are as an anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, cicatrisant, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, nervine, stimulant and as a vulnerary agent.
          Hyssop oil is a powerful oil and helps to relieve respiratory problems, digestive disorders, genito-urinary conditions and skin conditions like bruises, eczema, inflammation and dermatitis.
          Burners (warmers) and vaporizers: In vapor therapy, hyssop oil may help with anxiety, mental fatigue, colds, coughs, bronchitis, asthma and infections.
          Blended massage oil or in the bath: Hyssop is a powerful oil that should in very small amounts in leave on body treatments such as massage oils. It may be better suited for local rubs or diluted well in a carrier oil and added to the bath, hyssop oil is reputed to relieve anxiety, fatigue, respiratory and viral infections, menstrual problems, colic, flatulence, indigestion and boosts the skin with its healing action.

Note: Not for internal use. Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.
Caution: Use only in small amounts in blends intended to leave on the skin (not more than 0.25% of a blend). IFRA and European commission recommend less than 0.1%. Do not use while pregnant or breast feeding. Do not use if you suffer from epilepsy. Not recommended for children under 6. Essential oils can be harmful if used improperly.
