French Lavender H.A. (High Altitude) is one of the most popular and therapeutic forms of Lavender. Distilling at high altitude allows the producer to reduce temperature which increases the ester content and improves the quality of oil. Some batches from this source have an amazing linalyl acetate content above 50%. It also has a low content of camphor, camphene and 1,8 cineole which are less desirable for skin conditioning and relaxation.
A good quality lavender has less than 2% of these constituents and this one normally has around 1.4%. It has a mild nature that makes it one of the few essential oils that can be applied to small areas of the skin "neat" (at 100% strength).

Lavender essential oil has a wide range of benefits. It's very commonly used in Spa's for its floral scent and relaxing qualities. It is one of the most used essential oils for a good night’s sleep.
Lavender is also beneficial for treating minor injuries. It can be placed directly on a minor cut or burn at 100% strength. It is an antiseptic, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal anti-inflammatory oil and an aid to fast healing with mild pain relieving ability. It stimulates production of white blood cells that fight infection. Lavender can be mixed with jojoba to make a wonderful acne treatment. The jojoba oil dissolves the blockage while Lavender fights the bacteria. Lavender HA is one of the best essential oils to keep in the medicine cabinet.
As well as healing, Lavender also has a rejuvenating effect on mature skin for a more youthful appearance. It is used to treat scars and stretch marks and some people claim regular use of Lavender slows the aging process.
As an insect repellent, Lavender can be vaporized into the air or used in an aroma warmer to repel moths, lice and fleas from the home.

Note: Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.
