          This “Queen of oils” requires 3000 to 4000 kg of Rose peddles to produce only 1 kg of Rose Absolute. This was almost chosen as a “select” oil and many professionals consider this Rose Absolute to have a premium quality aroma.               Rose Absolute is an amazingly complex oil. It is probably top 5 of the most complex. Rose absolute normally has approximately 420 natural constituents while the average essential oil may have 60 to 150 natural constituents.
              The difference between Rose Essential oil (Sometimes called Rose Otto) and Rose Absolute is that Rose Otto Essential oil is steam distilled and Rose Absolute is solvent extracted. The advantage of steam distillation is that it is a natural process however, the heat in the process damages some of the delicate natural constituents of the oil. The advantage of solvent extraction is that it doesn’t significantly damage the oil and produces a more complex oil which is more similar to the natural Rose. The downside to solvent extraction is it collects some small amount of non-volatile oils like carrier oils and waxes. There is also concern about the possibility of solvent left in the final product. However, techniques have improved over the years to ensure the maximum possible residues are very very low and some producers claim they are now able to remove 100% of solvents in absolutes.

           Tip: Rose absolute is usually pretty easy for the customer to test. For a quick quality check, you can place Rose Absolute in the refrigerator. The low temperatures will solidify some non-volatile parts to look mostly like wax in oil. This is a little bit difficult to get the correct aroma combined with the correct appearance if synthetic chemicals or other essential oils are added in large amounts.
           Note: Not for internal use. Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.
    Caution: Rose is Not recommended for during pregnancy. Use in small amounts below 0.6% in blends applied to the skin. Possibility of trace amounts hexanes may be present. Essential oils can be harmful if used improperly. Information is provided for educational purposes only. It is up to the customer to determine if the product is right for their intended purpose. Special consideration should be made before applying essential oils to pregnant women, children or the elderly.
    If under a doctor's care, please consult the physician before using essential oils. If applying to skin essential oils must be diluted correctly and Aroma & More recommends testing on a small area of skin to check for reaction before attempting a full body massage.
