Pink pepper berries are a type of pepper that belongs to the Capsicum annuum species. The peppers are small, round and have a bright pink color. They are native to South America but are now grown in many parts of the world. It is also known as Peruvian pepper, American pepper, false pepper, California pepper tree, Redberry.

Historically, it was used in Peru as a natural remedy for colds and flu. The aroma is fresh, very intense and sweet-spicy with a faint floral note, a dry woody, slightly smoky undertone. It is mainly used in perfumes, for diffusers, aromatherapy and skincare products.

Please note that the aromatherapeutic properties of Pink Peppercorn Essential Oil are not the same as those for Black Pepper Essential Oil (Piper nigrum), Chemically Oil and the tree are very different. Both have a woody, stimulating, warm, clean-spice character. Black pepper is more sharp, where pink pepper is softer, and sometimes has subtle floral or fruity aspects.

Therapeutic Properties: Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, carminative, digestive, diuretic, expectorant and stimulant.
