     Benzoin is used in perfumery for its vanilla like aroma and its strong fixative and preservative qualities that improves the shelf life of the aroma blend and make the benefits last on the skin. It’s extracted from the benzoin tree bark then expeller pressed to collect the resin. Benzoin from the Siam region is considered the higher quality and the choice for fine perfumes.
     In aromatherapy it is primarily used for its healing, antiseptic, antiviral and astringent qualities.
