Spicy and sweet, Tarragon’s spicy aroma combines notes of anise and basil. Its relaxing scent can help dissolve emotional and physical tension—especially in muscles. Due to its potent natural components (methyl chavicol), tarragon oil should be well diluted at 0.2% in topical blends (5 or 6 drops per 4 oz of carrier), and only used for short periods of acute need. Our Tarragon essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of herbs grown in the countryside of Thailand.
Because of the High level of methyl chavicol many aroma therapists do not use Tarragon. It’s more popular in fragrancing or soaps. But if you wish to use in aromatherapy keep the inclusion rate low and it may be beneficial to blend with essential oils high in linalool or eugenol to help offset the negative effects like; Ho Wood, Rosewood, Coriander, Lavender, Cinnamon Leaf or Clove.
Reputed Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Antiseptic, Antispasmodic, Carminative, Digestive, Relaxing
Note: Not For Internal use. Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.
Caution: Not for use during pregnancy. High levels of and estragole and low levels of methyl eugenol will be present. May inhibit blood clotting. Seek advice from a qualified aromatherapist before use in aromatherapy. Essential oils can be harmful if used improperly. Information is provided for educational purposes only. It is up to the customer to determine if the product is right for their intended purpose. Special consideration should be made before applying essential oils to pregnant women, children or the elderly. If under a doctor's care, please consult the physician before using essential oils. If applying to skin essential oils must be diluted correctly and Aroma & More recommends testing on a small area of skin to check for reaction before attempting a full body massage. Claims have not been evaluated by the FDA.
