The anti-bacterial and antiseptic qualities have been utilized in numerous skin care and cosmetics intended for dull, oily or mature skin. These qualities are also to be beneficial in the production of disinfecting soaps. Nutmeg is used in bathing products for its disinfecting qualities and for its refreshing nature. It is stimulating, awakening and an aid for general fatigue.

          It is a warming oil useful in rubs for muscle aches and pain.
          There is much written on the benefits of Nutmeg in Ayurvedic History in India. Only a small fraction of the uses have ever been researched.
Note: Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.
          Nutmeg is a seed and not a nut so there is no risk for people with nut allergies.
          Intoxicating effects are possible from the fresh ground seed but unlikely from the steam distilled oil.
