Gamma linolenic Acid (GLA) was first isolated from Evening Primrose oil. It is a fatty acid which has numerous claims but is perhaps best known for its anti-inflammatory ability and for its ability to boost the body's immune response.

Evening Primrose helps to strengthen nails and is wonderful for skin and hair care. It regulates the function oil glands, so it can help dry, combination or oily skin regulate itself. Evening primrose oil is considered by some to be one of the best remedies to cure eczema and many other skin-related problems. GLA content in this oil is essential for skin health and helps the skin heal faster, and can be used to fight problems like acne, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and irritations or itching. While these claims are sometimes disputed, oils high in GLA do show signs of success treating these problems.

Evening Primrose improves the skin's elasticity. Its moisturizing properties helps fill fine lines and wrinkles to improve the appearance of mature skin. It is not comedogenic so it will not clog pores.

Caution: There are multiple cautions for ingesting Evening Primrose. Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS) for external use however, contact dermatitis is possible. Aroma & More recommends testing on a small area of skin to check for reaction before using on larger areas.
