    Siam wood, Fokienia hodginsii is sometimes called Peimou, Pe mou, Po mu, Fujian Cypress or Coffin Wood. It is called coffin wood because the wood is used in coffin building due to its resistance to mold and water damage. The essential oil is extracted from the sawdust by-product from wood cutting. Siam wood is a member of the Cupressaceae or Cypress family but the oil has the beautiful aroma of a quality Cedar wood. It is very Complex, Rich, and Woody with a hint of sweetness, yet missing most of the less desired perfumery notes of cedarwood oils.

          Tea Tree Essential oil is one of the most popular oils in aromatherapy and traditional medicine today. It is produced from the leaves of a small tree that originally grew in low lying wetlands on Australia's east coast. The leaves had been used for unknown ages by the Australian aborigines to treat injury, illness and infection.

          Tea Tree oil has a reputation for being powerful against a broad range of bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Aboriginals used to crush the leaves in their hand and inhale the oil to treat colds and headaches.

Terpinen-4-ol is the component of Tea tree oil that is credited for most of its anti-infective benefits. Through a modified steam distillation process this producer is able to extract higher than normal levels of terpinen-4-ol.

           This is a rare quality of bergamot we have classified as a special selection or “Select”. It is difficult to find and expensive but this quality is absolutely necessary to produce some of our blends. It has a very rich scent and we are proud to be able to share this with our friends.

          A good quality bergamot really stands alone among other citrus oils. Bergamot has lower terpenes such as d-limonene which allows for a much more flavorful oil. Limonene is not the most desired part of citrus oils in most cases. In citrus oils such as orange, limonene content might be as high as 92% - 96% and the different benefits or aromas come from the small amount of other components in the oil.
