          Frankincense Rivae Essential Oil is a complex essential producing a soft, woody, slightly sweet and elegant aroma. Frankincense rivae Essential oil is used in aromatherapy for its powerful uplifting and clarifying effects on the mind. It is considered to be one of the finer Frankincense's in perfumery for its unforgettable fragrance and a rare jewel in our Frankincense collection. Frankincense rivae is a must-have for Boswellia enthusiasts for its complex essence which flows from over 180 constituents providing an uncommonly sweet, heavily scented, woody, spicy, balsamic and lasting aroma. It is a little darker, sweeter, less lemony, and more leathery than other Frankincense essences.

          Boswellia rivae is a rarer Frankincense grown naturally in thickets and the dried resin is hand-gathered by a small cooperative of local villagers. Although technically not a certified organic product it is wild harvested and not cultivated so pesticides and fertilizers are not used in production. Recent efforts in Somaliland have improved protection of the species from over harvesting and restored sustainability.

          In aromatherapy, Rivae Frankincense is a meditative oil, commonly used in religious or other ceremonies and gatherings. The Essential Oil contributes to the uplifting and clarifying effects on the body and the mind.

          This fine Frankincense for perfumery is equally suited for easing tension and for common skin issues. Diluted with a slow absorbing carrier oil such as Argan or Jojoba improves its effective on fine lines, damaged, scars, wrinkles, mature skin showing signs of premature aging, puffiness and for extra moisture.  Diluted with a fast absorbing carrier oil like Rose hip or Fractionated coconut improves anti-inflammatory, calming, sedative, focus, analgesic and astringent properties.

          Clearing respiratory problems... Frankincense rivae is used in aromatherapy to widen airways and promotes deep, calm breathing. In addition, it has expectorant properties and is often used to help clear the lungs of built up mucus or foreign substances that restrict breathing and can cause asthma or allergic like reactions.

          It may be applied neat to small areas of skin, minor injuries, pulse points or combined with other aromatic essences and carrier oils. The tenacious aroma remains intricate and unforgettable from start to finish. As with all Frankincense essences, it offers a tender touch to skin in need and may be added to oils or creams to sooth and smooth fine lines, reduce the appearance of spots and scars.

Note: Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.

Caution: Little research can be found but experience and examination of constituents do not indicate a higher potential for harm than other Frankincense oils. Improper ingestion of more than minimal amounts could cause nausea, acid reflux, and diarrhea. The anti-inflammatory, analgesic and sleep properties could magnify the effects of other medications for the same conditions. There is a small possibility of skin irritation in in some people in high concentrations (Typically above 5%). Old or oxidized oils could cause skin sensitivity.
