Sometimes called marigold or Mexican marigold, Tagetes is native to Africa but now cultivated in France, North America, Madagascar and India. It is in the same family as calendula but the oil is not similar in appearance or scent. The smell is wind, sweet and some fresh fruity.(some said like green apple). Tagetes is much more pleasant than calendula oil and a popular ingredient in perfumery, natural aromatic and skin care products.
Tagetes is reputed to have very effective anti-infective qualities as well as antispasmodic and sedative qualities. It has a reputation as a pain reliever, boils, acne and psoriasis, also benefits in respiratory uses.
It is a very pleasant insect repellent and insecticide.

Note: Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.
Caution: Use in small amounts. May sensitize skin. Phototoxic - Sunlight should be avoided on treated skin for 12 to 24 hours after use. Not recommended for pregnant women.
