    Siam wood, Fokienia hodginsii is sometimes called Peimou, Pe mou, Po mu, Fujian Cypress or Coffin Wood. It is called coffin wood because the wood is used in coffin building due to its resistance to mold and water damage. The essential oil is extracted from the sawdust by-product from wood cutting. Siam wood is a member of the Cupressaceae or Cypress family but the oil has the beautiful aroma of a quality Cedar wood.
