In order to be classified as a “Select” essential oil an oil must be all natural and a truly exceptional quality that is difficult to duplicate. Due to the producer’s proprietary technique, materials and knowledge this oil is powerful yet missing some of the pungent notes of resins and piperine normally found in Black Pepper essential oil.

This has a lower dry aroma with almost a hint of frankincense scent but a Black Pepper aroma which more closely resembles the peppercorns used in cooking. These qualities can be helpful for registered formulas because the ingredients can be revealed on a label yet still make a formula difficult to copy.

Black pepper essential oil can be used in your aromatherapy formulas and in perfumery. A native to south west India, pepper is cultivated primarily in tropical climates. Black pepper has been used since antiquity in the culinary and healing arts.

Black Pepper is best known for increasing circulation, muscle aches, constipation, nausea, flatulence, muscle & joint pain relief, poor digestion and appetite loss.
Black pepper is good in warming liniment formulas - for aches and pains, along with poor circulation in muscles and joints. It is included in many massage blends to increase blood flow, and may also actually stimulate blood production as a tonic for the spleen. Its qualities make a valuable addition for exercise blends, particularly when the goal is to increase muscle size/weight. It is a “hot” oil so take care to use in small amounts.
It adds a lovely 'spicy' note to aromatic and perfume blends. It is comforting and stimulating and it is a good choice for inclusion in blends intended to help enhance alertness and stamina. Black Pepper should be avoided before bedtime.
Black pepper can also be helpful for poor concentration or an apprehensive state of mind.
Although not generally used as a skin conditioner, as a light tonic it may help to balance oily skin conditions.
