100% Pure & Natural Essential Oil

Fragonia essential oil has a distinctive aroma described as fresh, green, and cineolic, with top notes of citrus and a hint of sweetness, a middle note of floral and spicy herbs, and woody, balsamic base note undertones. It is often compared to tea tree oil for its therapeutic qualities but is considered more attractive, while also sharing similarities with eucalyptus in its clarifying and strengthening effects on the breath. The oil is used in aromatherapy, perfumery, cosmetics, and soapmaking.

Therapeutically, Fragonia is valued for its respiratory support, antimicrobial, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used to support respiratory health, soothe skin irritations, relieve muscle and joint pain, and support immune function.  It is also used to promote relaxation and improve sleep quality. The oil is generally considered safe, with no known cautions, and is suitable for use with children.

Fragonia essential oil is a relatively new essential oil in aromatherapy, first introduced to the professional world in 2006, though the specific chemotype was recognized for commercial potential as early as 1996. It is derived from the plant species Agonis fragrans, also known by the synonym Taxandria fragrans, which is native to the southwestern region of Western Australia. The oil is produced exclusively by a single producer on a family farm in Western Australia, where it has been cultivated since 2002 using sustainable practices. The plant is a small, bushy shrub that grows up to 2.5 meters tall and produces narrow leaves and small white to pinkish flowers.

The essential oil is obtained through gentle steam distillation of fresh young twigs and leaves, harvested during November and December when the oil concentration is highest. It is a 100% natural essential oil, with a unique and balanced chemical composition that includes approximately 28-32% 1,8-Cineole (eucalyptol), 30-35% monoterpenes (including alpha- and beta-pinene), and 22-30% monoterpenols (including linalool). This balanced profile, which features nearly equal parts of monoterpenes, oxides, and monoterpenols, is rare and contributes to its wide-ranging therapeutic applications.

While the cultivation is conventional and not certified organic, the producer employs sustainable farming practices, including minimal use of herbicides and fertilizers.

Note: Not For Internal use. Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, but even when they can, essential oils are highly concentrated and require dilution, special training and caution that Aroma & More does not yet provide. You can never drink any essential oils at 100% strength or diluted in water-based liquids.

Caution: No known special considerations. Essential oils can be harmful if used improperly. Information is provided for educational purposes only. It is up to the customer to determine if the product is right for their intended purpose. Special consideration should be made before applying essential oils to pregnant women, children or the elderly. If under a doctor's care, please consult the physician before using essential oils. If applying to skin essential oils must be diluted correctly and Aroma & More recommends testing on a small area of skin to check for reaction before attempting a full body massage. Claims have not been evaluated by the FDA.
